As well as the hardware, comes software known as a Bluetooth Stack. There are some VERY shit ones, and some OK ones. You should ensure any dongle you buy comes with WIDCOMM Bluetooth Stack, as it's the most compaible one out there, and works well under XP (unlike some of the other stacks).

Your hint worked well for WIDCOMM Bluetooth Stack but I am still facing the same problem with BlueSoleil. I can connect the phone through Bluetooth and Even now that WIDCOMM is working properly at the PC Suite Bluetooth Stacks, only the one of Microsoft appears so that should not be the source of the issue.
